My entry for ESC 2008 is complete, and I will be mailing it this evening. Lots of hard work, tempo changes, key changes, and about 10 complete vocal takes later, I think it turned out really well.
The rules for submissions are a mile long, but the basics of the selection process are really cool. You send in your song on a CD, with the title clearly labeled. In the same package you include a sealed envelope with information about who wrote the music and lyrics. However, the cool part is that the sealed envelope isn't opened until AFTER the songs have been selected for the competition. I think this is really cool.
You are allowed to supply "artist information" about the person who is singing, but this is optional. I plan not to include any information, since I am an unknown anyway.
If I am selected for the competition you will get to hear the song for the first time on TV, and if not I will make it available as soon as possible.
Wish me luck!
