Just played the three levels, it's certainly looking fantastic! I really like your use of heights, initially I didn't see the need for it, but it does add a feeling of quality to the levels. Are there still going to be some purely random dungeons? I sort of liked that aspect of the game. On the other hand, maybe this is a great project for trying out user created content, having people in our community build levels that go into the actual game! Some notes: -If the feature "red items can't be used yet" is still supposed to be there, then it seems to have some visual cue problems. That is, you can't use items above your level (which I assume is correct), but sometimes they aren't red (when you can't use theme), and sometimes they ARE red when you CAN use them. -"Detected Player" could perhaps be "Detected You"? Keep it up! |

What an Amazing Update!
Wow what an amazing update! The improvements in graphics are awesome, the addition of stairs, water and texture variations really made the caves much more immersive. I want pools of lava also
I really liked that stealth was more of an ability now. The game felt a lot more balanced, I got my ass thoroughly kicked by the mummie

This Iteration really puts the standard in the game! I just couldn't stop playin' it till the 3 dungeons were cleared, and I want MORE!
The graphic aspect have really gotten a great boost! And as Hobbz says, maybe it's time to put some love n' care into the UI graphics soon.
I'm gonna have the trolls at home till till Friday, but after that I gots me a week that I can put down on some heavy Hero work!
A good thing would be to make some sort of list of things to do and prioritize then appropriately, do we still have the ticket system up n' running? Or can we fix a list on the dev forums maybe?
Love the Stealth n' First Aid systems! Really makes it all a bit strategic, adds great depth to the game mechanics!

Just remembered something regarding the level design that you can have in the back of your mind.
It felt like most of the "low height" rooms often where obscured by the transparent walls. By placing them better and having them quite large I think they will make much more of an impact.

Sorry johno, random dungeons are history... Its going to be more of an editor feature. The main reason for old hero to have randomized dungeons was my angst about creating lots of levels. But rpgs are much about levels so the focus of "new hero" project is kick-ass dungeons. But I think the old dungeons had a quality my current dungeons lack...
Red items can be used if you have the right level, the color is just there to show that they are weapons of higher level. Well it does not work, so it will be gone...
Yes hObbE I agree, the map-game really needs some attention, the mix of graphics really does not work, It could be really nice to have a playable world like the levels... I would really want the map to feel like the relaxing place between levels, it should not be hard to find next dungeon and you can repair items and buy/sell stuff.
Great to have you on board Gridur! I think we could create a thread here in the forum for sound graphical requests?

Just tried this game for the first time... It's looking very cool, especially considering it's only early days still. The lighting and music adds a lot! The mummy kicked my ass too
And after dying and losing my inventory I had a hard time getting back on track, kept getting killed. Also came across a crash while walking around in the upper-left dungeon. Didn't really do anything special when it crashed, so can't give a very helpful description unfortunately

Sounds like one or both light maps gone completely black...
Has the wall part texture? Does it change anything to switch on and of the "Stealth" button?

on the dungeon next to it i only see my silhouette. no walls at all.
and nothing happens when i click stealth button.
when i alt tabbed me back to hero it crashed...
