You can play all our pc games just by downloading and installing hUb!
[Resolved]Known buggs in the current version:
Level editor tile buttons have the wrong image
The images are wrong on some of the tile buttons, the texts are accurate.
Ball gets stuck on accelerator fields
I have seen that the ball sometimes gets stuck and you never get to hit it again if an accelerator field points directly to a wall
Both issues is solved and scheduled for release on Friday
I have found some things
I have found some things that annoy me in the current version of the game:
1. The music, especially that it fades in and out all the time (when entering a level it stops). Since it only takes a few seconds(?) to play a level it becomes a bit annoying. Possibly it will become more of a background music if it is on the whole time?
2. I can't read the swooshy text when you get a hole in one etc. It's too fast and I think a nice fade to a normal size and then fade out. Now it gets into your face and thats a bit "scary".
Also, are the two bugs posted here still valid?
Thank you! I will change the
Thank you!
I will change the music and you will probably get different music or none depending on how well you play... and maybe just change the volume depending on if you are on a level or not?
I have another bug in the current version, if you clear the last level with a hole in one you get the message next time you start a level.
No they have been resolved...
Here's another small thing
Here's another small thing that could make the list of things to improve.
The "angled" tiles look a lot thinner than the horizontal or vertical ones. Makes the levels look wonky. I think that if you fix this it will look a lot better.
Hm I have thought about it,
Hm I have thought about it, but cannot come up with a way to do it...
The problem is that I use some special tile sets
As you can see I use a combination of 4 different tile types(and rotations) to build the levels. The problem is I don't know how to fatten the angled tiles without expanding the tile set.
any ideas?
Tile problem solution
You can do something similar to this.
It will of course change your physics as the angles of the tiles change a bit.
edit: But alas, this will make things way harder to analyze. As you can see, the diagonal tile (lower left to upper right) is used twice in the example, and in my "solution" it appears as two different versions...

"you can't stop the change"
hm it introduces new
hm it introduces new tiles...
MGW reacts on clicks when it
MGW reacts on clicks when it is not the topmost windows...
Also crashed once today...
Found a new bug...
Found a new bug... In the mini resolution 800*400 MG does not show levels on select courses..
The 800 * 400 resolution is mostly for netbook PC´s and I realized the game could not be started when testing on hObbEs netbook.
I will get to work on these asap
Hole in Lava
Hey there.
I'm not sure if I ever said anything about MGW before, I couldn't find anything anyway. I tried this game a few times, and must say it isn't really my cup of tea. I keep comparing it to an old mini golf game my dad has on his 486 and I prefer that one. I'm just curious as to why you have chosen to not space the game out? This is something I for one think would make the game more appealing to me.
The worlds-part of MGW says to me that there should be a whole lot of different environments to play, lets say Ice, Lava, Space etc. all with different effects and perhaps even rules. I'm not sure how many others think like I do, but I imagine at least a few do. I don't mean to be all negative, but I wanted you to know why this game is not appealing to me, and I'm curious as to your design choice.
I'll finish with a link from Penny Arcade that made me want to post something here.

There's no kill like an overkill!
Good Point!
Imho, you can go two routes with a mini golf game. Either you make it simulation style, i.e. the real deal or you do wacky style fantasy/sci-fi mashup. The simulation style of course attracts serious mini golfers where the wacky style attract a broader gamer type of player.
MGW misses out on both of these, by not being realistic enough (tele-porters, wonky slopes, wonky levels) and not being wacky enough (I'd just love having trolls and ogres playing mini golf with a gnomes head)
I think the goal in MGW was to provide some casual community playing, as such I think it needs to be more realistic. It needs to play more like real mini golf does so people can recognize it.
The mini golf game I modeled
The mini golf game I modeled MGW after was actually very simple but very addicting, you really wanted to play the course again and again and try to improve your score, it lacked graphics and trolls but was still very exciting...
I don´t think people really are looking for that kind of games anymore, we want more graphical instant fun...
And if i look at the statistics around 60% of the players stops playing the game on the first course. And a few people play the game like I intended (logged in and compete for high scores, create levels etc.)
And I agree, it might need a little more realism, and a lot more focus on audio visual feedback.
For me the MGW has mostly been an experimenting ground for community features.
Right now I focus on Hero, but I don't consider MGW a dead project...
