1 question before buy

Hello,

I like the demo, and now I want to buy this game. Before I buy it, I would like to ask a questions.

Does it matter where to buy this game ? Some sellers can not get latest update because of the disagreement with developers. I don;t want to encounter that. Will my user name and key work regardless where I download the game ?

This game looks very similar to another game called "AUTO CROSS RACING". I would like to know the story behind this if possible. I have played the demo of both games and they are amazingly similar. And I like both of them. It looks like both of them were same group before and because of some reson it looks like they splitted the game into 2 games making both unique but still similar.

thank you

Hey stonegolem. I'm glad you

Hey stonegolem. I'm glad you found us and I'm glad you are interested in Roadclub.

I definitely think you should buy the game from us Sticking out tongue since hUb supports automatic upgrading of your games. Also we have a good relationship with SolidCore (devs of Roadclub) guaranteeing that hUb users always have the latest version.

I have no idea about the similarities between Roadclub and Auto Cross Racing that you mention. KJM Software (listed as devs of Auto Cross Racing) seems to have been a uk company. They seem to be out of business though as their homepage is dead. I doubt that SolidCore and KJM Software have any affiliation but solidBenny can maybe shed some light here...

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Roadclub dev response to Stonegolem

Hi stonegolem, great to hear that you like our game! I'm one of the developers of roadclub. This is definitely the best place to buy the game because of our relationship with spell of play. Keys will of course work whereever you buy the game as long as you download it from the same place.

We have no affiliation whatsoever with the Auto Cross team. This game was created from scratch mainly by me and another friend from Sweden. Any similarities are coincidental Smiling We had developed Roadclub for several years when i first heard of Auto Cross. I found out about it when looking around for competiting games in the same genre. I of course think our game is much better with a lot more fun racing, longer playing time and depth for the enthusiast as well as integrated editors.

Hope that answers your questions, otherwise ask away!

Thank you again for your interest in our game.

nice ^^

Thank you guys for your answers. I am also a great fan of old school 2D racing/driving games and I'm collecting them as well.

Even I'm a 3D modeller, still I enjoy 2D topdown racers more that 3D ones. I have more than 16 years of 3D modeling experience and now I'm teaching 3D modeling in a post graduate program in Canada. Maybe one day I will blend my dedication to 3D modeling with my love of topdown racers.

No problem. Great to hear a

No problem. Great to hear a 3d artist enjoys the game despite the non-3d nature of the game Smiling Super cars and death rally made it impossible not to try to make my own top-down racer when i finally had collected the skills for it.

There are a couple of good attempts at topdown racing on WiiWare (Driift Mania) and Playstation 3 (Pixel Junk Racers). Maybe you should try your skills at something like that Smiling

any randomness ?

I got my game & I'm happy ^^

I'm especially impressed with the possible variations in the game. With the car editor we can have almost endless possibilities.

I am just wondering if the game engine can create random cars for both user and for opponents for each play ? By random, I mean same graphics but slightly different grip, acceleration, break performance, etc (he things which we could modify at the car editor.)

Lots of randomness :)

Great, thanks for supporting our effort and enjoy the game!

We've tried to randomize everything where it was sensible to make every career unique. I think we did pretty great in that department.

It could randomize cars in theory but it can't as it is. Mostly because it isn't sensible to do so. We've had to carefully tweak every single car to make them drivable. I don't think random attributes for the cars would make them any fun to drive. You'd spin out doing any sudden moves or when braking and so on. If you want to make cars i'd suggest copying a default car and tweak it from there.

Great Game !!!

I could find some time to play more. And every time I play, I feel more impressed. I wonder why this game didn't take it's place on big game review web sites ? I believe any guy who played this genre before would like to play it and I bet they would love it if they knew it.

The car upgrade system is excellent. It's as sophisticated as an RPG game character development.

The track editor is a superb addition. I couldn't find enough time to create something yet. But if it works (and I'm pretty sure it is working), then it provides unlimited replay value to this game !

Is the front lights of the car really can get malfunction after some damage and turn on and off randomly like it could in real life ? or it's just my gamepad causing this miracle ? Smiling

I play it on simulation mode with just normal difficulty setting. And I can easily say that this is one of the best games I have ever played in this Genre.

And needles to say it worths every single cent which we paid.

I am just 1 single customer and maybe it doesn't have much meaning. But I want to congratulate the developers for creating such kind of great game. And also I would like to thank the publishers to make it known. Honestly.

it's a Great Game !!!

Thank you SO much!

Your words mean a lot to us. Thank you! We worked on this game for over 7 years but we've barely gotten anything for the hard work. We've submitted the game to all the big sites several times but we get no responses unfortunately. Hobbe has spread the word to every big site that i know of. Hobbe has finally managed to get it on gamersgate from what i hear and thats a step in the right direction. I think the problem is that it falls between casual gamers and hardcore gamers so it appeals to very few hardcore topdown racing fans.

Nope the lights actually intentionally blink after some damage Smiling We've added lots of these tiny details if you pay attention to make the game dynamic.

Thanks a million for your kind words. I can only hope more people will feel like you in the future! Please help us spread the word if you can!
