This looks like a very cool game, I wish I could win the first race to get club membership Tried creating a new profile and saw that I got another car, is it possible to just be really unlucky with the random car (trying to make up excuses here!)? It would make me feel better to get a certain amount of cash and buy a car of my own choice, so I can't blame the game for giving me a crappy car Two things that immediately appear slightly broken: the race position can show anything between 2nd to 6th place when I am in fact solidly in last position (always!). The ghost from your previous race comes up a bit unexpected sometimes. For example the ghost from my old profile showed up in the tutorial and races when using a new profile and having deleted the old one... By design or accident? The ghost is not terribly useful in the tutorial either... Good stuff, now if only I could actually play the career! |

I gave it 5-6 tries before giving up with the conclusion that I seriously suck

Awesome, but... :)
hey thanks for playing!
the trial race issue seems to come up more and more often. it shouldn't be that hard to win the first time. You CAN get unlucky since the game generates a randomly bad car for you when you create your profile..
maybe we should change this so its the same car every time. that way we can make sure the difficulty level is decent. The first race is meant to immerse you, not put you off..
Race positioning is really difficult to do well. We thought we had it fixed, but I guess not. We'll have a another look.
The ghost showing up from old profiles is intentional. The game records the best laps in the maps so different profiles on the same computer can fight for top times against each other. however it should NOT appear in the tutorial or test races. This is fixed in the next version.
thanks for great feedback, we hope you'll be able to have fun after the next update!
Awesome, but... :)
In earlier versions, you could buy your own car from the scrap heap to start off with. Maybe this is a better system, as the free cars to choose from will re-roll after each attempt at winning the race. This way the player will have some incentive even if he is losing ("MAYBE, just maybe after this race I'll get a really good junker")
Also are you playing simulation or arcade? I have honestly never even tried arcade... it is possible that the AI is faster there, since the increased grip will mean it doesn't miss turns and smash into trees as much.
Awesome, but... :)
Its better in that sense but it gives a bit too steep learning curve. We want to throw the player into the driving action immediately. We'll have to give the player a car that can beat the trial opponents pretty easily.
The AI is much faster and better in arcade. but so is the player. at least faster
Awesome, but... :)
I was playing in arcade mode. Kind of surprising to hear that the AI is faster and better in arcade than in simulation, I would have expected it to be the other way around
My car couldn't touch the speed of the opponents though, it might have been possible for me to win if I had a 100% perfect racing line and didn't make any mistakes for the entire race...
Awesome, but... :)
its equally easier for both in arcade due to the increased grip. its just physics. there should still be a substantial difference in the favor of the player in the beginning. we have changed this quite a bit in the next update. it shouldn't be hard to beat the trial opponents.
