Roadclub FULL GAME Release Candidate on HUB!
Apparently I have a knack for checking here on the days you release stuff.
Trying it now.

Heh you just have the gut feeling we're up to something then.

I tried the game out now for the first time in a long while. Here is my feedback:
-keyrepeat effect on mouseclicks when selecting portrait. The arrow buttons that let you select a portrait act strangely when you hold down the mousebutton on them.
-sometimes hard to see which car is yours in the starting lineup. I later realized that you do see your name, but that's only until you start your engine.
-engine overheat is not explained (or did I miss it?), don't know what to do about it, also doesn't seem to fit in an arcade sitting.
-can't always handbrake when holding down accelerate and turning, key input problem?
-in the tutorial, it wasn't obvious where to find the lesson boxes, and the exit box had no label
-the game crashed: I think I started by creating a profile, playing for a while, created a new profile, running tutorial, and finally crashing when starting first race.
-in general the menu flow is still pretty daunting. The reason I started a new profile above was that I had missed Dan's advice to buy something in the shop, and then I didn't know what to do. Perhaps you could highlight the next button to be pressed on each screen, and have a tooltip for it also?
-what is the "wavy lines meter" thing that shows up sometimes?

Thanks for great detailed feedback.

this is a feature
in lists it is sometimes very nice to have the repeat effect. for normal clicks it should never interfere. in which way is it strange?

I agree. I got a few ideas how to make this clearer.

It means you're above the redline on the rev meter and you need to lay off the throttle for a moment. Definitely not an arcade thing no. I'll improve the message and remove it from arcade altogether.

I've experienced this from time to time. It something in the physics. Grip, acceleration and tire lock somehow don't cooperate as intended.. tough one.

if you drive into the only openings available you find them and each lesson text points you in the right direction at the end. it shouldn't be too hard. was it really frustrating?

indiecosmic apparently experienced something similar. we haven't had a single crash during internal testing so it would be great if you could send us your crashing profile and logs to contact at solidcore so we can compare them to indiecosmics'.

yeah what to do next in the menu tutorial can be improved. we'll think about this.

-what is the "wavy lines meter" thing that shows up sometimes?

it shows how much slipstream you have when driving behind someone else. not sure how to illustrate this better or where to do it. so far we mention it in a randomized tip before race but thats not enough. should also be a simulation-only thing.

I've been playing it for a bit. Very polished. These are the bits I think can still be improved.
1) The new tracks are good. I like the point->point ones, except that sometimes I get lost and end up going backwards or something.
2) Supergrip upgrade is still overpowered. I am using a stock lvl1 car with supergrip and have no problems at all keeping up with the 600+hp AI cars near the end. I would suggest something like +20% to the base grip factor of the car.
3) No crashes thus far, after about 40 races.
4) I agree with the need to move the general messages upward, as they block the view of your car.
5) I get the engine overheating message for no reason. (And I dont actually suffer any damage when it occurs)
6) The wind is a bit excessive. Also the AI doesn't take the wind into account, so it makes their already...sketchy...situations a bit.. scarier...

good points. and thankfully not very difficult to fix. I agree on everything. Wind and overheating should go since they don't add very much and are very difficult to get right.
