Iteration 25

Yo!

A new iteration is released on schedule as usual. This time I focused my efforts on the menu, making a more standard approach. I would appreciate any comments regarding it.

Unfortunately I did not get around to testing the multiplier stuff, but I have a few ideas that could possibly work out fine.

First run

Just downloaded and tested I25.

The GUI looks better and feels more logical and standard. It has a bug though, when you hit back in the resolutions menu you go all the way back to options instead of graphic options. And under keyboard mappings all the buttons are marked as , even after I hit reset to default.

Still missing the music and sound effects volume options in the menu, would be nice to have that available. This would also make the sounds sub-option less empty, since it feels pointless right now with only one option.

Tried to play through as much as possible but the game cut me off at the beginning of level 4, which is a bit sucky.. especially since I didn't even get to submit my highscore.. =/

Strange with the keyboard mappings, so they where all set to ","? Will check that out!

The sound options you mention are on my todo list!

Since there are virtually no people registering for the full version, i feel that I must try something new. Maybe you should spend 8$ on the full version Sticking out tongue A bird has whispered that a price raise is coming... so this could be a good time...

Respect that you have the current highscore on an unregistered version! You get 5 lives the registered version so that score could be even higher Sticking out tongue

Difficulty levels in TWTPB

I have just succumbed to the overwhelming demands of adding difficulty levels to TWTPB.

I had to struggle a bit to get it working with the theme of the game.

The basic idea is to make the enemies spew less/more bullets and give lower/higher scores.

All in all I think this will provide something good to the game.

We'll go on with some internal testing of this (good to implement these features early in an iteration) and it will be available for download 14th of November.

Internal testing results

I tested the easier difficulty level on the internal testing and I really enjoyed playing the game, the easy setting was hard enough for me, before I got stuck on level 5 but now I finally did beat that boss after 8 attempts or so Eye-wink

Actually I feel very proud making it that far on easy settings Smiling and I look forward playing the rest of the game! When playing the game on the old settings I just gave up.

I like the idea of achievements, it feels like you really should get something for beating those levels at different difficulties, that would make it fun trying to beat the levels on other difficulty settings too...
