As you may have noticed we have had some troubles wit hUb during the weekend. As it seems there are some troubles with a DNS server making it impossible for hUb to find our games. We are working hard to fix these server issues. As a result we have made a new connection implementation in hUb that will fix this problem. However you will need to download the newest version of hUb manually from our website. After this you can just install hUb over your old copy and you should be able to keep all your downloaded games and such. Please let us know if there are any problems and we apologize for the inconvenience. /hObbE |

hUb - always required?
Hi!
I just wanted to have a look at the demo of your game "The Phadt Menace", as I'm much more interested in indy games than games from large, expensive companies.
However... it would appear that I have to download something similar to STEAM to play the demo. Is this correct?
And if I buy the game itself, would I have to keep hUb installed?
I would see this as a rather irritating DRM, and thus it would stop me from even trying the demo... which would be a pity.
Greetings from Munich,
Klaus Breuer
PS: You misspelled 'inconventience'
hUb is not a DRM
Howdy!
Cool that you found us and are interested in Ufo Pilot! Inide games are the best
You are correct that you have to get hUb to get access to all our games, including "The Phadt Menace".
However, hUb is not a DRM. hUb only provides easy download of our games, it has nothing to do with managing licenses, or getting in the way of you playing our games.
To recap a little history about hUb, we were a bunch of guys that developed games and we needed an easy way of showing and playing among ourselves. Since we firmly believe in keeping games updated and making regular new releases (T.W.T.P.B. has been released 29 times so far!), it became painful to create - upload and download installers and zip archives. So hUb was born.
If you really don't want to use hUb you can simply just run the game exe after the download, possibly even copy the game directory and then remove hUb. I don't recommend it though, and also community features will be disabled
Spelling errors fixed, thanks
I do hope you understand that hUb is all about giving you an easier and more convenient way of getting our games, and that you do try The Phadt Menace. It's a great game
benefits of the hUb
Hi Klaus!
I'm johno, the developer of UfoPilot II : The Phadt Menace, and I'm really happy that you want to try the demo!
As hObbE has already mentioned, the hUb is all about keeping our games up to date and bug free. Since going online on the hUb, UfoPilot II has only become better and better, due to the ability for customers to comment on and suggest changes to the game, as well as my ability to react to these suggestions and be able to roll out new features and bug fixes very quickly.
Also remember that all future updates are included and free of any further charge.

Cool!
Hi chaps!
Thank you very much for your response, much appreciated!
And I am happy indeed to hear that I'm not looking at Yet Another Steam DRM System. Thus I'll check your games this weekend (unfortunately I'm too busy at work to try this during the week), and will try them all!
Just finished "Grid Defense" - very much looking forward to the next game(s)
Ciao,
Klaus

Note on a hUb;)
hell.o guys!
I've downloaded few games with hUb and I think it's really cool tool, but I have one little notice.
Did you tested it with left-handed people?
I'm one of them and I have switched mouse buttons - the hUb is acting like they weren't. It's not annoying, but little uncomfortable;)
