När jag försöker installera HUB så säger installationsprogrammet "You do not have the priviliges to write files in C:\Program Files\HUB. Please select another location.". Was ist los? Jag kör Windows XP och har aldrig sett detta förut. Fel i installationsprogrammet? Skulle ni kunna distribuera HUB som en enkel zip-fil för att undvika onödigt strul? För jag gissar att installationsprogrammet inte gör mycket mer än att kopiera filerna till katalogen? |

No priviliges..?
I will answer in English
The problem is that windows (XP in some cases and Vista in most cases) prevents programs (not users) from writing to several catalogs (including "Program Files") if they are not run with admin access rights. The thing is that windows permits the user to install programs in these catalogs (often with some kind of warning).
In the case of hUb, hUb will install games in a directory below the hUb install directory and it will simply fail if you do not run as admin. To prevent this case you can either install in another location, or you can run the installer with admin priviliges.
We are researching a better solution to this problem...

application data?
I've been thinking about this problem some more...
Wouldn't it be best after all to store the stuff that HubLauncher downloads in application data somewhere (in the user home dir). Isn't that what you're "supposed" to do? Ableton Live does this, among other programs...
No priviliges..?
Strange, it's my home computer and I should have admin priviliges on that. You never know though, I got it from Termite Games a long time ago. Maybe I've just not needed admin rights before(?).
No priviliges..?
Yes the security restrictions in Windows is becoming more and more troublesome...
I do not think User Data is an options since there could be trouble installing and running executable files from there.
I think that when we switch to VS2005 this problem can be solvec by using manifest files.
We'll keep this as an open issue...

No priviliges..?
This issue has now been resolved in hUb 1.5
Download the new version if you want to be able to install in restricted catalogs, for example "Program Files".
The simple solution to this problem was to simply let the installer change the permissions on the install directory. This effectively bypasses all windows security (and their whole virtual disk implementation
).
Hope this solves your problems.
