Well this has sure been a quiet thread, I guess the site is perfect then
We have currently been thinking about expanding the community part of the site. Currently the community is more or less just the forum and we could really make a lot more.
So we need your input! What functions would you like to have in the community? Feel free to go crazy in your suggestions! We could for example add more game specific community functions like showing who plays what games the most, who has the highscore, user rankings, achievements etc etc
Would this be interesting?

Gameing events ( like tournaments with prices)

Have a list of favorite games, consoles

I agree on all these items. I think one of the first steps is to allow for people to interact with eachother more on the site. I'm thinking of a simple thing of having a buddy list, and maybe different groups you can create an join.
To expand on this it would be really interesting if you could create your own highscore tables, and invite people to play on them. This way you could challenge your friends, organize competitions and do other cool things.

Ok... what about this, have a global user profile (possibly the community profile) and use it for creating high score/achievements lists in game and in the community.
Game specific in the game and user specific on some community page, listing (if the user want to) the high scores/achievements from all the games supporting GAR "the [b]g[/b]lobal [b]a[/b]chievements [b]r[/b]egistry"

Yes, and acheievements could actually be anything in the games...
For example in T.W.T.P.B you could get the "Bullet Dodger Achievement" if you don't die in 20 levels
Really cool! This would require loggin in in hUb though (at least if you want "global" achievements...)
All in all... I'm leaning towards an optional log in in hUb

And you can take it even further by ”linking” some of the games. To get special item no:X in Game A complete level Y in game B with a minimum of 2 points. Or kill Mr. Big Evil Boss to unlock a secret passage in another game.

One more thing before its forgotten. I talked to dntoll some days ago and dynamic banner generation came up, displaying your greatest achievements. I think it’s a good idea, easy bragging in other forums for the players and free commercial for SOP/SOPS/SPS or whatever you call yourself for short.
And put something like achievements of the [b][time period] [/b]on the main page and not just the overall record. Makes it a bit more dynamic and interesting for the visitors.

Achievements would be cool yes, it appeals to the collector gene and makes people start websites such as [url]http://www.xbox360achievements.org/[/url]
That was also something that my girlfriend commented on when she compared Pirate Quest to similar games on Neopets, that she gets neopoints and medals and whatnot for playing on Neopets
The downside being that it's potentially a lot of work to implement and retrofit to existing games I guess...

The most work is probably related to the website.... that is beeing able to view and publish your achievements will take some time to implement...
but we are definitely working on it

After we talked irl some issues with loggin in from the forum was mentioned. That is when you wanted to reply to somethin and was not logged in you got to the frontpage after the login, having to find your discussion again...
Now you should get back automatically to the reffering page when loggin in. I hope this is a bit more user friendly
