We're updating the design of the site a bit right now. If you find anything wonky or strange please let us know.
It would also be cool to know what you think of this change?
The plan is to simplify the design a bit and then rework the community from scratch.
i like the blue titlebars on
i like the blue titlebars on the right. the blue background could probably fade a little longer and it may need to be a bit darker so it won't have contrast problems with gray text like "submitted by" and the titlebars on the right. I like the direction it's heading, but then again i've always wanted a brighter page

I agree the grayish text has
I agree the grayish text has some contrast problems. I mostly work in a logged in state and then I get a small menu on top of things so it gets pushed down a notch for me so I did not notice this. Also I think it's only in news posts that the submitted by is displayed like that. Possibly it should be changed to work like the blog posts instead...
Regarding the community this part of the site will get a complete re-haul from the bottom up
When making the community we had an idea of having generic high score charts etc. This soon fell apart since games needed custom stuff.
Also the group thing is a bit too advanced right now, I'm leaning more towards a simple "friends" thing.

you're probably right to simplify it. according to several talks in the industry, facebook integration is the future. maybe you should just plug in the friend system from there. would give spellofplay automatic spread in cyberspace also
I think turborilla has had a lot of success with their facebook stuff. http://turborilla.com. people are a lot more active there than here to say the least and he wasn't bigger than us a year ago.

facbook integration could indeed be a good option! I've already coded some for twitter and that could posibly also be used (though fb tends to hold your real friends and twitter is more a strive to "collect" ppl)

I'm slowly adding some new improvements and stuffs, for example the games now have "tags" just as in hUb. For now they are only used in the footer of the page, but I will expand this to be used throughout the site.
