Hello!
In response to a hUb forum discussion, I have enabled the already implemented sneaky dev-mode color editor in hUb, available via the Options screen.
Now you can edit the existing colorschemes to your liking (don't forget to save!). Right now there isn't support for changing the names, but maybe that's not that important... 
This update it automatically downloaded and installed when you start hUb.
