Music just got a lot better, I might even leave it on from now on Sticking out tongue I like the fact that you now have different music for gameplay and mission briefings. That kinda reminds me of Perfect Dark (best N64 game? I think so!), and the briefing music specifically reminds me of PD's briefing music Smiling
The getting hit sound was a nice touch, as was the "Energy" voiceover. It kinda feels like a finished game now Laughing out loud

I did like the old ship design, and the new one is a bit...wide. It's still good though, but I do prefer the old one.

"Regeneration" now overlaps the health bar. Not a big problem, but a problem nonetheless. I like the new ability selection method though, just what I wanted Smiling

Also, have you changed any scoring code? I could never get above 1.5 million before Sticking out tongue

Hmmm... no actual scoring code was change (as far as I can remember) but the game has got a tiny bit easier with the rebalance of weapon loss. Maybe that's it, or you have got more skilled Smiling

I see TWTPB has had some good progress on it since I last played it!
And I think it's a smoother experience and more friendly to the player now, with the big energy and health bars, powerups that get "sucked in" even if you're not strictly intersecting them etc. Good stuff. Also, thumbs up for supporting 1440x900 which is my native res.

Speaking of res, I like the new music and SFX, very Rez-like Smiling Which is not a bad source of inspiration imo! The new ship is spiffy too, I like the flames and prefer it to the old one.

If I would have to pick on anything, it would be the special ability selection and visualization. I always end up with the wrong one selected Smiling I think I would be more comfortable cycling through them instead of reaching the end of the list and then have to move back through it again. A graphical symbol instead of text would also be helpful!

Ability selection and visualization definitely needs an overhaul, I hope I get time to make some changes in that area this iteration.

The music is incredible. Who's the genius?

I actually prefer this selection method very much to the old one. Only I'd like to have regeration being the one in the middle. you're more often choosing between time warp and rapid fire. that way you could just roll up to get time warp and roll down to get rapid fire and roll one click from any end to reach regeration. with better visualization this will be awesome. until you decide to have more abilities Laughing out loud

Well... there are some more abilities comming up though... but I guess some input settings are starting to become necessary, since control schemas are becoming more and more up to individual taste. Smiling

How about selecting different abilities with different keys? That would get rid of the confusion completely.

that would be awesome Laughing out loud you could probably not manage more than 6-9 abilities that way though. more than that and it will be impossible to balance things anyway I guess.

If and when we get 6 or more different abilities it will be pretty damn hard managing them using the scroll wheel Sticking out tongue

Yes, I've been thinking about adding "direct" keys for the abilities. I guess it will work like a standard shooter; you can either direct select your weapon, or you go to the next/previous one (using keys and/or mouse wheel)

Did it end at the start of the 25th? Looks like I joined the group too late. Not that I would stand a chance of reaching 1.6 million anyway, but I did break one million Smiling

Btw, there's probably a mix-up on the user description pages where it, in my case, says "Started threads: 29 Forum posts: 3"... I think it should be 29 posts and 3 threads.
